Happy Father’s Day

What is it that makes a great dad? Some one who will be a good friend? Some one who is a good provider? Some one who is a good husband? Some on who is a good parent? Some on who is a good neighbor? Some one who is a godly man? I say yes to all of these statements.

As a father myself, I am always wondering if I measure up. Do my children see me as anything that is good? AM I being enough parent, enough friend, enough husband, or enough pastor? I am also my children’s pastor. It is a lot of different roles to keep in balance. All I know is this. If I love unconditionally as a father, I will be able to stay in balance. I want the best for my children and grandchildren, so I strive.

I was blessed to have a father in my life that was a role model in so many ways. He still is since he is still married to mom after 55 years. That in itself is a great feet. He was always a good provider to our family. He was what I would call a man’s man.

There is a song titled “Good Good Father” and here are the lyrics:

Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think you’re like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you’re pleased
And that I’m never alone

You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

Oh, and I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching
For answers only you provide
Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word

You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

Cause you are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

Oh, it’s love so undeniable
I, I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable
I, I can hardly think

As you call me deeper still
Into love, love, love

You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

If you are without a dad this Father’s Day, you have a heavenly father who will be that role model you have been missing. He wants the best for you!

Happy Father’s Day, and remember to stay in the light!
