As God accepted the names of those who have hurt us in the past, I sensed a relief coming over our group of 40 last Wednesday evening. Some of us have been hanging on to a hurt for too long. This first step in the healing process, was a visual of how to actual give your unforgiveness to God and really bury the past. God accepted our sacrifice and I know He is pleased.
As far the people that hurt us, it is between them and God now. We are free from any more guilt, hurt, or shame. We gave it God and He placed those names in the grave. When we hurt someone we are now very aware of the damage we cause when we don’t repent and ask for forgiveness. We can control our actions, but we don’t have any control over the actions of others. Only God can change a person, not us.
