Are You Ready?

With the social media frenzy of a South African pastor named Joshua Mhlakela claiming the “Rapture” of those who follow Jesus happening on Sep 23 or 24, 2025, it would be a good time to talk about the silliness of a man-made prediction for this event. Pastor Mhlakela places his energy in a belief that he was given this revelation by God. He claims no biblical reference or wise counsel. What is sad to me is that many “Jesus followers” don’t know what the Bible teaches about Jesus’ return for His people.
I do know this, Jesus isn’t going to come at the whim of some man claiming to know. When we peer into the biblical prophecy of Jesus and His gathering of all those who claim Him as their Lord, Jesus Himself said this:

Matthew 24:36-39
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Just because someone says one thing, all one needs to know is check the only resource we have for the proper context, the Bible. One thing many have done on TikTok is talk about how to prepare for that last day of your life. The truth is that no one when death will come to claim our time here on earth. We shouldn’t prepare because a man said this is the day it will end, but we should prepare our lives all the time by loving God and loving others. That is really how you prepare. Love conquers many things, especially in a world that seems to be “experts” in the Bible even though they don’t know or believe what it teaches.

I have spent many years studying, praying, preaching, serving, and loving people because of what Jesus has done for me. I have learned form the best theologians, with multiple degrees, and I can say this fact for sure; I still don’t fully comprehend this “rapture” in totality. I will keep on doing what God has called me to do, even when at times the world thinks it knows about a God they don’t believe in. No one can know God if they don’t believe He exists. They can know about God, but not know Him in a personal way.

Let’s love and show the peace of Jesus to all.

In the Light, 1 John 1:7,
