Recently, I have seen some new spiritual movement in young adults. I just completed an interim pastorate at a local church here in El Paso. Through that process, I was amazed at the openness, willingness, and the response to the Gospel. After all, my generation is great at downgrading the generations that follow us, especially Generation Z. I know I have been guilty of saying things that didn’t encourage them for sure! I witnessed a great movement of the Holy Spirit in a 6-month time frame that I had never been a part of before. All I know is it was refreshing to be in the presence of the Holy Spirit!
The only thing I know is it was not me doing the work. Yes, I was there, and yes I had the honor to preach weekly, meet with the staff weekly, and meet with the governing board of the church. Those were key items in the transition time of the life of a church without a lead pastor. That is what I call the in-between time of a church. This is a crucial arena for a church to stay together, place some new parameters so the new pastor can hit the ground running if you will, once they are on the field. I am excited to document this journey now that a few weeks have passed since the church received their new pastor. I will be posting some of the great things that happened in a short 6-month period. Until next time…
